Book Haul: Christmas!

The bookish haul was relatively small this year, to no complaint of mine.

The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Mariel Barbery

The Giver by Lois Lowry (in which I admit I’ve never read it)

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell (Surprise gift from this lovely blogger you may know named Chachic. Thanks friend!)

Book holder (A snazzy device for hands-free reading!)

These don’t include my YAckers secret Santa gift, nor the Nook case and the complete book of Chopin Nocturnes I received.

What did you get for Christmas? Feel free to link to posts or photos in the comments.

Since my family knows to not buy me books, because they are the ones who ask me for book advice, I never get books for presents. But, I did give myself the gift of a copy of Unsticky by Sarra Manning, which I’ve been wanting to read for ages and had to order from the UK.

I loved Attachments! It is such a different sort of book.

Exactly! My family is intimidated by the thought of buying books for me, and most don’t want to buy me a gift from my wishlist. (Too boring.)

What a great gift to yourself! I hope you love it. I ignored my life to finish it in two days.

I’m so happy to hear Attachments has your endorsement. I plan to get to it soon.

Yay, hope you enjoy reading Attachments! I’m glad I was able to grab a copy in a bookstore here in Manila too. You’ve never read The Giver?! That’s one of my favorite books when I was younger. I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

Me too! I’ll definitely let you know what I think of it. Hopefully I can do a Retro Friday review of The Giver.
