So with the last few weekend trips, reunions, and weddings of the summer, I’ve been completely swamped. I’ve wanted to blog but it just hasn’t happened. Things should calm down after my sister’s wedding on Friday, and shortly thereafter I hope to get a few reviews up. In the meantime, I spent way too much time scouring the shelves at my local Borders today. With the 40% off of all fiction titles and 50% off romance I came home with quite the haul:
Don’t you just love that edition of Bel Canto by Ann Patchett? I could not resist it. Nothing can make up for losing Borders forever but I was happy to take advantage of the closing sale.
Anyone else score some good deals from Borders?

Oooh curious about what you’ll think of The Last Letter From Your Lover and those Kristan Higgins books! Local bookstores here are on sale too but I haven’t bought anything because they’re mostly just 20% off fiction books.
Just enjoy the everything that’s keeping you busy right now, the blog will always be there when things calm down.
I haven’t been reading or blogging that much lately and I’m trying not to let that bother me.
It’s so hard not to let it bother you, I think. I have a couple of ideas for discussion posts and all these reviews I want to read. The list just never ends.
I’m so excited to read the Jojo Moyes and Higgins books too but I’m not sure when I’ll get to them. I haven’t had as much time for reading right now as well and my TBR just doubled with these purchases, lol.
I miss the blogosphere, though. Hopefully I’ll be back again soon.
I have been to my Borders five times now I think…haha.
Can’t wait to see what you think about Kristan Higgins! She is a favorite of mine.
i just read a kristan higgins
it was fun and such a lovely distraction <3
That’s quite the haul:) I’ve never read any Kristan Higgins books but I definitely want to do so in the near future.
I found Bernard Beckett’s Genesis there for $1.99! I seriously contemplated buying every copy they had–I suppose there’s still time. I also got Take Me There and a bunch of sci-fi books. (and some other stuff I can’t remember) I am so sad that Borders is closing…but the deals are pretty amazing.
Oh wow you still have Borders? Over here we lost all our Borders shops about a year and a half ago (I remember it was just before Christmas cos I got everybody cheesy Mills & Boon books for Secret Santa, they were going for 50p each! Ok I may have kept a few as well
My local Borders is now an Urban Outfitters, I hang my head with despair every time I pass.
At least we still have Waterstones….for now at least.
