In My Mailbox: Vacation edition

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. This meme is about books that you received or bought during the week.

I got a couple of things before I left and while I was gone on vacation. (Excuse the poor quality.)

Bought: The Demon’s Surrender by Sarah Rees Brennan (It finally came! And of course the day after I left…)

Borrowed: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford (For a family book club. I finished it already and while it wasn’t my usual read it was lovely. Review coming soon.)

For Review (Netgalley): Tris and Izzie by Mette Ivie Harrison (Thanks to The Book Eater and her feature Eating ARCs for alerting me about this one. The galley is on auto-accept right now so if you want it head on over. After seeing several negative reviews on Goodreads I’m a little worried but isn’t the cover just gorgeous? I can’t resist it besides the fact that it’s a Tristan and Isolde retelling.)

It was nice to have a break from both real and internet life but it’s good to be back. Anything exciting come to your mailbox this week?

Welcome back! I really should look for a copy of Demon’s Surrender already but whenever I look at my bookshelf, so many unread books stare back at me. I’m trying to take advantage of not being book hungry because I know it wouldn’t last. Eventually, I’d give in and feel the urge to buy something. Also, I need to finish the galleys that I already have. The TBR pile is taking over my life again LOL.

Lol, sorry! Mine is too. Must put a ban on the book buying I’ve been doing lately, since I’ve barely put a dent in all the books mentioned in my IMMs lately.

Finished The Demon’s Surrender myself last week. I’m having very mixed feelings after loving book 2 in the series. I’ll be anxious to talk to you. Lets do lunch-Wednesday?

Oh Em, I’m sorry you had mixed feelings. I haven’t even started it yet though. I’m so far behind on the to-be read pile these days. Let’s definitely do lunch though and I can bring I’ll Be There for you if you want.

You have a nice list of books that you received this week in your mailbox. I have Tris & Izzie from NetGalley too. I haven’t started reading it yet though, I need to finish Dragon Bound first.

I need to be more like that and finish some of the books I’m reading before I start something else, there’s just too many good reads waiting to out there! Heading over to check out your IMM.

I also got the Demons Surrender in the post (it’s in my bag right now waiting for my lunch break so I can crack it open!)
I also got Sweethearts by Sara Zarr, Beauty Queens by Libba Bray, The Immorality Engine by George Mann (most beautiful cover ever) The Silver Phoenix by Cindy Pon and a bunch of others that I’m looking forward to devouring greedily. My bank balance hates me right now but I don’t care!

ps. I figured out what was going awry with the comments function on my blog so shouldn’t have any more trouble leaving a note or two now : )

Ooh, you got some good ones. Can’t wait for your review of Demon’s Surrender. I liked Sweethearts though it’s a little bittersweet for my taste. Thanks for fixing, I’ve left some comments. :)

I know! I’m reading Sweethearts now, was not expecting the whole past goings on. But still a great book, just a bit sad so far.
