In My Mailbox, assorted edition

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. This meme is about books that you received or bought during the week.

Bought: Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews, I’ll Be There by Holly Goldberg Sloan.

Swap: Raw Blue by Kirsty Eagar and Six Impossible Things by Fiona Wood.

Giveaway: The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente

eGifts: (not pictured) Burn Bright by Marianne de Pierres, Saving June by Hannah Harrington, A Pocketful of Eyes by Lili Wilkinson, and Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley.

I’ve been on a bit of a book-buying splurge lately. I considered putting a ban into effect immediately since I have too many great new books to read right now and I’m starting to feel some pressure to read them all, but then I remembered that I don’t have a copy of The Demon’s Surrender by Sarah Rees Brennan yet. After that the ban can start. :)

In other news I was excited to receive my first bookmark from The Book Depository with the order of I’ll Be There. The orange color of the bookmark coordinated perfectly with the pops of orange in the cover (I wonder if the staff at BD planned that?), and because of this I actually used it, which made me very happy. I am definitely going to start building a bookmark collection to match a variety of covers and genres. :D

*Special thanks to We Be Reading and Flannery.

Yay for your bookmark. I think they plan it — the bookmarks I got matched the books I ordered. :D And this is a very awesome stash! So many good things in this post! I also got Magic Slays this week and will read that soon. Looking forward to Saving June after all those good reviews I saw on Goodreads, too. :)

Oh really you say? I’m excited to collect more Book Dep bookmarks then. Like I’ve said, TOO many great books to choose from right now. Never sure what to dive into next. :)

  2. Raw Blue has a cool looking cover. I actually got Demon’s Surrender this week from AmazonUK, I’ve only read the first chapter so far though because I have exams this week.

I’m having a Sarah Rees Brennan giveaway on my blog at the moment too, if you want to check it out.

    Here’s my IMM this week

    oh my gosh

    complete week of awesome (!)

now i am so hanging out to see what you think of some of these (all my fave aussie ones, for example, and ‘i’ll be there’ which is tempting me from my wishlist …)

I already have the first three books on top and I want copies of the other two as well! Can’t wait to see what you think of all of them. Err where were the e-gifts from? I want to read Saving June and it’s not yet available over here, was wondering where I could get it. Or maybe I should wait for your review first.

Also, congrats on finally getting a Book Depository bookmark! The one that you got is really nice, I don’t have that design yet. Hmm maybe I should order again? :P

    • Holly says:

The e-gifts? That’s confidential. No, just kidding, I thanked the giver at the bottom of the post. I hope to get to Saving June soon but we’ll see what happens. Thanks for the congrats! I am surprised at how much I liked it. That orange is one of my favorite colors. *chanting* Do it, do it, do it! I want to see which book (and bookmark) you get.

  5. The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairlyland is SO good!

Also the cover of I’ll Be There is stunning!

    Happy reading :-D

    • Holly says:

Really? I’m excited to read it then.

I am in love with the cover. The pop of orange is brilliant (and one of my fav colors).

  6. Sandy says:

You have an impressive haul this week! (Actually, I think out of the nine books mentioned I want to read six of them! ESPECIALLY Burn Bright & The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland… and Raw Blue. ;D)

    • Holly says:

I know! I am spoiled. I can’t wait to get to the first two you mentioned, and you know I already read and loved Raw Blue.

  7. Exciting books, Holly!

To anyone who is interested in buying ebooks of Burn Bright, Graffiti Moon, Raw Blue, Saving June, or really any Aussie book we can’t get, you can buy them at http://www.dymocks.com.au! It is super easy and they aren’t very expensive:) Saving June isn’t an Aussie read but for some reason it is out in Australia before here.

    • Chachic says:

Yay Flannery, thank you so much for this info! I really was curious about where to get copies of those books. Might wait for Holly to review them before I buy anything though. I’m trying to be good by tackling the books on my TBR pile for now.
