In My Mailbox, featuring my new mailbox

In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. This meme is about books that you received or bought during the week.

For Review:
10 Miles Past Normal by Frances O’Roark Dowell
Silver Smoke by Monica Leonelle
House of Silence by Linda Gillard (Kindle edition)
The Dark Enquiry (Lady Julia #5) by Deanna Raybourn (NetGalley)

Bought:
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
Children of Scarabaeus by Sara Creasy
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I was thrilled to see The Dark Enquiry pop up on NetGalley last week. I finished reading it last night. (It was lovely btw.) I’m excited to read Linda Gillard’s newest book, which is a Kindle publication. As for the ones I bought, I’ve been meaning to read something by Sarah Addison Allen for ages and now have no excuse. I found Garden Spells on buy.com for only $3.98. They appear to be sold out of paperbacks at that price now or I’d post the link. :( I ate up Song of Scarabaeus (review soon!) and am happy to have the sequel Children of Scarabaeus. I’ve already read The Book Thief but I didn’t have my own copy so I bought the hardcover at the Markus Zusak talk. After hearing him speak about his inspiration and writing experience, I’m looking forward to a reread, hoping I’ll enjoy it more the second time around.

What did you find in your mailbox this week?

Your new mailbox looks nice! And yay, you’re finally going to read a Sarah Addison Allen book. Can’t wait to see what you think of her work. :) Garden Spells was the first SAA book that I read and I’ve been in love with her work ever since.

I should try requesting books from NetGalley. I remember signing up but I don’t think I’ve ever requested a book.

Thanks! I like it. :) I’m going to love SAA as well. Netgalley is great – you should really try requesting something sometime. I’ve been approved for everything I’ve requested and the Kindle option just became available again.

Dying to hear what you thought about Dark Enquiry! I can’t wait to get my hands on Lady Julia and Brisbane again. I need a good “escape” right now. Post a review soon.
