Under the Tree + IMM

Belated Merry Christmas! While we’ve had a busy but fun time celebrating the holidays with both my family and my in-laws, it’s good to be home. I didn’t get any books this year, but I did get a GC and went from owning none to two (!) ereaders:

(Apologies for the blurry photo.)

This week I also received the coffee table book Barbie: A Rare Beauty by Sandy Holder for review. Since Barbie was such a huge part of my childhood, I couldn’t resist this offer. :)

But the question is since two ereaders seems redundant, which do I keep, the Kindle or the Nook? I’m leaning towards the Kindle because it’s a newer version than the Nook and it seems like the availability is better since some authors only work with Amazon to epublish. Either way I’m excited to finally own one, especially since I just started using NetGalley. But seriously I’m a novice when it comes to these devices so let me know which reader you prefer. Maybe I can’t live without either?

From zero to two! Now THAT is lucky. ;)

I´ve heard that both are equally awesome but that the Kindle works overseas while the Nook doesn´t. I don´t know if you travel frequently (and internationally) but if you do, the Kindle would be more reliable to use.

Oh and if you need to get rid of one of those e-readers, I´d be moooooore than happy to take one off your hands, lol!

I hope you had a merry Christmas!

    Dude!!

I haven’t really played around with the Kindle, and I love my nook. This makes me perhaps biased. (pick the nook!)

Oh wow, two e-readers! I have a Kindle but that’s because the Nook doesn’t have international capabilities. I wouldn’t know which is better if I had to compare the two but I really like my Kindle.

I know! Word got around that I wanted an ereader I guess and then I got a different one from two different family members. :) Good to know – your opinion is valued. Another vote for the Kindle.

Awesome, they gave you both e-readers. :P

I think the good thing with the Nook is you can load other file types there, like epub, which is more popular. But since I’m a Kindle user, I’m biased towards it. Besides, there’s a simple OS somewhere you can install in the Kindle so it can load other files without having to convert. So it’s still like having a Nook. I think.

But my vote goes for the Kindle. :)

A little biased with my answer. I vote for the Nook since it can load any file type (Supports a lot other than pdf and epub) since epub is much popular than the Kindle file. Though I heard there is a program to convert for than.

Fantastic site you have here but I was curious if you knew of any discussion boards that cover the same topics talked about in this article? Id really like to be a part of community where I can get responses from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Kudos!
