In My Mailbox is a meme hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren and was inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie. This meme is about books that you received or bought during the week.
So this wasn’t really in my mailbox per se but I did get a copy of Wolves, Boys, and Other Things That Might Kill Me by local author Kristen Chandler for review this week:
Isn’t the turquoise, black and touch of yellow eye-catching? It certainly caught my eye a few months ago in Barnes and Noble but assuming it was another YA paranormal about werewolves I didn’t give it a second chance. I found out later that it’s about real, actual Yellowstone National Park wolves and a girl named KJ who lives just outside the park in podunk West End, Montana. Intriguing yes? I thought so and and just picked it up this afternoon. Already 100 pages in so things are looking good so far.

I love the cover of this one! I would’ve made the same assumption that you did though, it looks like a paranormal book but good to hear it isn’t and that you’re liking it so far.
I’m glad it’s not just me.
Oh! This is one that I wanted to read and then completely forgot about it!! Thanks for reminding me–I’ll have to pick this one up soon!
You’re welcome. It just seems so different than the standard contemp YA, I’m glad I got a chance to review it.
I’ve been wondering about this novel, can’t wait to hear what you think of it
Have a wonderful week and enjoy your new book.
Me too, and thanks.
Hope the rest of the book holds up.
I like the pop of yellow too! Good call publisher, good call.
The primary colors just work don’t they? Some authors are just blessed with good covers.
