Free Blog Pimping

So I came across Carla from The Crooked Shelf’s witty WANTED post the other day and thought it was a brilliant idea. You see since I finally got a smart phone, I can spend much more time visiting the blogosphere then I used to and I don’t have nearly enough blogs in my reader to keep me as overwhelmed occupied as I’d like. So this is your chance – no holding back – PLEASE recommend any excellent blogs I may be missing, including your own. I’m up for anything. I know I’ve only touched the tip of the iceberg and I’m ready to branch out.

Thanks in advance and happy blogging!

I’m a fan of cuteoverload if you don’t already follow that. In book blogger land, I think you already follow my favorites. Want suggestions for blogs with pretty pictures? I follow a few art & craft blogs.

Yes! I forgot to mention I wasn’t limiting myself to book blogs only. I would love some artsy blog recs.

        Well I really like:

        1) Rare bird – http://rareredbird.blogspot.com/
Used to follow this blog back in the day and found her again in a blogspot blog. Her artwork is very dainty. She has pretty taste with a vintage feel.

        2) Grosgrain – http://grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com/
This is a sewing blog and she does a lot of giveaways. I’m in AWE of her sewing skills since I can’t sew for crap. She seems to make a dress a day, and she buys clothes from thrift stores and makes amazing things out of them. In awe I tell you. I also enjoy her Project Runway recaps.

        3) My Paper Crane – http://www.mypapercrane.com/blog/
Another one I’ve followed for a long time. She posts lots of pictures of what she’s working on (so creative). Lots of CUTE things, plus odds and ends she finds at thrift stores and other things.

I have a few blogs that i’ve recently started following because of my little post, so YAY to other people wanting to spread the book and blog love. I just LOVE it when I find a new blog that suits my reading habits perfectly.

http://inkcrush.blogspot.com < Aussie blogger. Went on her blog for the first time this week and have already ordered a book because of one of her reviews.

http://makeshiftbookmark.blogspot.com < Same dealio here, just started following Jen and I love her already. I've even started being a creeper and speaking to her on twitter. She is SO funny, totes my cup of tea

http://www.annareads.com < I LOVE Anna. She is like my book twin or something. She gets all up in my head.

A golden oldie that I have been following since I started blogging is Lauren at http://iwasateenagebookgeek.blogspot.com her reviews always manage to convey just how much she loves books and the written word, plus she's a grown up like me and I just love her.

My homegirl Jenny at http://www.wondrousreads.com we have such different tastes in books but i respect her opinion a lot.

Steph Su recommended Reasoningwithavampire.wordpress.com and ZOMG I think i pee my panties laughing everytime I go on that site.

So yeah, I hope you find some new blogs that you love. :) and ps thanks for the link love!

Thanks Carla for the detailed recs! Can’t wait to check them all out.

This is a great idea! I think I’m going to wait for the comments in your post so I can check out other people’s recommendation.

Like Janice said, you already follow my favorite book blogs so I don’t have any suggestions there but I’m not sure if you already follow these:

http://community.livejournal.com/sounis/ – a community for Megan Whalen Turner fans
http://community.livejournal.com/athanarel/ – a community for Sherwood Smith fans, you liked Crown Duel, right?

I get a lot of good book recommendations from those two sites and the people over at Sounis are crazzzy. I love them because they totally understand my Gen obsession.

    • Holly says:

I know, Carla’s brilliant. :) Thanks for the suggestions. The Sounis one sounds particularly good. I don’t think I’ll get any other comments but we’ll see.

    Congrats.

Echoing the above, I love Inkcrush – Nomes has the best recommendations for sure.

Also, Forever Young Adult. If you aren’t already reading this hilarious site, well, you should be.

My Fluttering Heart always has something fun too – she highlights a lot of fashion and stuff as well as books. I think you’d dig that side.
