I received the loveliest of belated birthday gifts last night. Exhibit A:
A great surprise. I’ve been wanting to read Lauren Whitcomb’s A Certain Slant of Light for ages now, but had forgotten about it. I really must keep my Goodreads to-read shelf up-to-date. Aaand, Exhibit B:
A beautiful specimen of a classic. Yes – can you believe it? Blog wishes do come true.
Ah! I’m giddy to read this but nervous to tarnish its beauty in any way. Maybe I’ll just admire it on the shelf for awhile…
It’s been an excellent birthday week.

Happy birthday ! A certain slant of light is beautifully written and I really enjoyed reading it
Emily – Cool! This is good to know. I’d always thought I’d like it because of the premise and some lovely reviews I’ve read. Angie’s recommendation doesn’t hurt, either. Now I just have too many good books to choose from.
A happy problem to have.
Yay, it’s always great to receive books for your birthday!
Angie and Chachic, I concur on both accounts!
Oh holly how beautiful! I loved A certain Slant of Light!!! And the second one, is it from anthropologie??? They’re both lovely!
Kika – this is good news. I need to read it soon then. Nope, as far as I know the Penguin Classics are not sold at Anthropologie, though it looks like something that could be from there! I’m not sure where the gifter got it from, but I’ve seen them at Barnes and Noble. Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Birthday!! So happy to see you got some good bookish finds. Love the JANE EYRE copy!
Michelle- Thanks! It was an exceptionally good book birthday.
Gorgeous Jane!
Juju – On behalf of Jane, I say well, thank you! I think so too.
